In 2001, Traci Bautista left a successful career in the corporate world to pursue her passion for art, launching her creative business endeavor treiC designs. She has a BS Graphic Design and Marketing degree from Woodbury University. With twenty years experience in design and marketing combined with fourteen years of teaching art, Traci is now an accomplished instructor, author and mixed media artist. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, Traci climbed the corporate ladder in Silicon Valley, marketing high-tech start ups and brands like IBM and Animal Planet. She worked as a graphic designer, event planner, marketing director, professional cheerleader, elementary art teacher, fashion designer, and web designer —to name just a few positions.
Traci contributes her success as an artist to her past experiences and innate drive to explore and create without boundaries. Throughout the past 14 years, she has traveled the world to teach mixed media workshops and guided thousands of artists to PLAY, paint intuitively and unleash their creative spirit. In her playful, collaborative classes, she shares her organic art making process and outside of the box thinking. She helps build creative confidence and encourages her students to “see things differently”, to let go and trust themselves as they face the blank canvas.
Traci is the author of three bestselling mixed media books, Collage Unleashed, Doodles Unleashed, and Printmaking Unleashed. Her art has been featured in over 25 art/mixed media books and 50+ craft magazines, including Somerset Studio, Altered Couture, cloth.paper.scissors, Art Journaling, Art Quilting Studio, Belle Armoire, Where Women Create and Craft. She has been a regular guest on DIY/HGTV Craft Lab.
As a business strategist, she mentors artists, designers and other creatives to teach them how to successfully integrate business with art. She has been teaching online since 2008 and has developed over 30 online workshops. She developed DREAM BIG creative business incubator and mentorship program where she strives to guide her students from hobbyist to flourishing artists and creative business VISIONARIES. Her most recent project is developing a new online art education website, www.artjournalPLAY.com.
She has partnered and worked as a consultant with many brands including iLove To Create, Strathmore Artist Papers, Sakura of America, to name a few, and is a Golden Artist Colors Artist Educator. Traci designs licensed product lines including Aleene's Collage Pauge adhesive, StenciGirl stencils, Stampington rubber stamps, stationery and paper crafts products.
