spilling with Sabrina and SARK

OH...what a weekend!!! My parents came into town from Las Vegas and I got to hang out with them. Also, Freedom and trei*trei, my little Yorkies are home with me. I've been traveling so much that I haven't had them together for awhile. On Saturday I went to Monterey for my Uncle Jeff's 50th birthday party. Most of the cousins, aunts and uncles were there. We had a blast, about 30 of my first cousins were there, but we were missing about 10 of them. Two weekends in a row...what a blessing...since we had an Easter gathering last weekend too!

On Sunday, I had the pleasure of hanging out with Sabrina Ward Harrison at Moon News Bookstore in Half Moon Bay. She read excerpts from her latest book The True and the Questions and signed books. While I was talking to Sabrina's "Nana", to my surprise SARK, one of my favorite authors and magical artists, introduced herself. I discovered SARK's books in college. My favorite, A Creative Companion inspired one of my graphic design printmaking projects back then. So I got to share my book with SARK and Sabrina!! oh...yah...I received an ADVANCE copy of Collage Unleashed late last week!!! WHOHOO!!! It looks amazing, I am so proud of it and can't wait to share it with all of you. Many thanks to my wonderful team at F+W Publications. Look for it to be available on Amazon.com at the end of May and at your local stores sometime mid-June.

So, I've been searching for a new home and studio...but haven't had too much luck yet. I'm looking for an art studio and home in San Francisco or Berkeley. So if you have any suggestions shoot me an email. I've been on craigslist everyday but nothing has caught my eye lately. So wish me luck!

So much going on...so little time. Writing...writing...making art...writing...proposals...it never ends...on the road again!! I'm writing my second article for my column Creativity Unleashed which will launch in Somerset Studio's Melange in July. Also, I just finished an article/masterboard project, which will feature my graffiti writing techniques in funky greeting cards and mini books for the Take Ten Autumn 2006 issue. In September, look for funky stitches: The Big Sack totebag to be featured in Belle Amoire. Lastly, I am also wrapping a few ATC's projects for Bernie Berlin's ATC book by F+W Publications, which be available later this year. Well..gotta take a break and walk the dogs...have an artful day! hugs...
