This past weekend I taught three workshops... painting, collage and bookmaking at Idyllwild Arts in the San Bernardino mountains. Waking up and watching the beautiful sunrises peek through the trees was a great way to start each day.
A few trip highlights...
As for the food, one place I enjoyed was Cafe Aroma, where I got to catch up with Michael deMeng over a bottle of Dancing Bull Zin ...it's always fun to see friends while teaching. For quick bites Java Lounge and Gary's Deli were YUMMY.
Michael and I also had a book signing and gallery reception on Monday night. I met a bunch of people who were also teaching or taking workshops. That night I met Carmel, a little girl who brought her "girlie" sketches to show me. TOO CUTE!
Minus the bugs and little creatures, teaching at Idyllwild was a great experience and I had a wonderful group of talented students. The mountains provided a mini vacation from the busy city, but I'm glad to be back at the beach...oh how I heart the ocean! :) check out some photos from the workshops...
