This holiday my trip to Hawaii was short because of work...lots of deadlines in the coming weeks for my next book. I had a wonderful time with the fam...but back to work! So, I left the sunny, hot 84 degree loveliness of Hawaii to come back to cold, wet and rainy SF. Yesterday, Tyler and I spent the day cruisin the Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco and played tourist while dining on YUMMY dungeness crab & sourdough at Bistro Boudin at Fisherman's Wharf. At the fair, I met many talented artists, did a little holiday shopping and noted the following trends...lots of silkscreen prints, printed textiles, t-shirts stitched and layered with graphics, headbands, mustache graphics, everything LASER/die cut, old books turned into journals, calendars and letterpress.
here are a few of my FAVES...skateboards turned into belt buckles and earrings mukee, beads/bauble necklaces and accessories handmade from reclaimed skateboards by claire, laser cut scarves with music lyrics by VeQ, throw back to the 80's felt cassette & atari controller coin holders/ipod cases by brave moonman, super cute bow & chain headbands {I got a little present for myself} by Intwined, Bohemian accessories and LOVELY booth decor of McKenzie of The Local Branch, handpainted jewelry by Yukako Ezoe, the faces of Klai Brown painted onto ceramic cups, the fun collab artwork of Scuba, crocheted sweet things by Twinkie Chan and the echeveria centerpieces designed by Chandra Abel Designs.
