It's day 9 of my 24 holiday inspirations...and I have a fun tutorial to create a handmade card made in 10 minutes.
Make your own unique holiday cards, gifts and tags!
Gather your favorite supplies...for this project I am using a selection of my hand painted papers & digital printables from my holiday kit collection, glitter cardstock and adhesive fabric. Aleene's dry adhesives, Recollections glitter tape and Flocking powder, Crafty Chica glitter and ribbon.
Cut glitter cardstock and other papers into rectangle shapes with a paper trimmer or scissors. The paper trimmer helps to create straight edges.
I trimmed a small piece of adhesive fabric {polka dot piece} to a long strip. Stitch the papers together with a sewing machine then add piece of glitter tape to accent the piece.
I wanted to add a little texture so I added Tacky Dot Singles to the front of the card. They are double sided adhesive, I placed 5 dots on the right side leaving the plastic on top until I was ready to adhere the flocking powder.
Peel off the plastic that covers the dot and shake the flocking powder over the sticky dot. Use a dry paintbrush to brush off excess powder.
continue to cover the sticky dots with flocking powder
I'm LOVING the NEW Koi Coloring Brush markers by Sakura! They are great for doodling and lettering. I wrote a few holiday sayings on Strathmore Mixed Media 300 series paper.
cut out a section of words that say "Merry Christmas". Stitch the hand lettered message to the top of the glitter cardstock.
For the final card, I adhered the stitched piece to a piece of textured cardstock and digital printables using Aleene's Tacky Tape Runner.
Use up all your left over paper scraps to create gift tags, name cards, gift card holders and art journaling cards.
Did you see my handmade stocking stuffer ideas and tutorials?
have fun making your holiday papercrafts!
