Aloha!! I'm back from a wonderful trip visiting my family in Hawaii. It was full of making art with my nieces, enjoying YUMMY eats, a little relaxation and great times with the family. It's been a busy year and this is the first time I've been back to visit since January...a much needed break. Although, I worked everyday, at least I was able to catch a few beach sessions and spend quality time with the fam.
I arrived on Saturday and Oahu was under Tsunami warnings throughout the weekend, luckily we didn't experience any bad weather. As soon as I got to my sister's house my nieces said to me, "We want to paint with you Auntie Boo Boo." And of course we kicked off my visit with art journaling night...painting, creating collages and drawing. Then had a few more days of art-making and AUTUMN crafts including decorating/glittering pumpkins, drawing leaves and making Halloween masks. They LOVE to doing anything art related!
It was my first Halloween in Hawaii with the girls. I helped Pua {aka little Katie Perry} get all dolled up with Glitter tattoos {she LOVED her blue wig} and sissy Nugz as Jesse the Cowgirl. We took our annual Halloween photo by the front door, a Halloween tradition started with my sister and dad which now continues with my nieces. It was a beautiful night and we stopped at a few houses and visited friends while we took the girls to "trick or treat."
Every morning I was up at 4am, did a little work then made the girls their favorite corn cakes breakfast and helped them get ready for school. My trip would not be complete without a few afternoons lounging at Lanikai beach..one of my FAVE places on the island. Also, I went to Moke's twice! It's the best breakfast in Kailua town, I heart the corned beef hash and fried rice. Since Tyler was home with Indie, I had a few Facetime sessions with them...gotta love technology!
The week flew by, I need a vacation from my vacation..lol. The girls are growing so fast and I'm blessed to be able to spend some time with them. :) Hope you enjoyed a little peek into my Hawaiian holiday!
many blessings...xo~treiC
