Happy Friday creative friends!! Here's a fun and creative tutorial to create your own DIY planner or idea book using my treiCdesigns digitals printable products. You can make these idea journals out of printed, painted or found papers. I love to embellish the pages with free motion and zig zag stitching.
I create these with plain white cardstock and graph papers or my custom DIY planner inserts. They are perfect size to take with you in your purse or computer bag and write lists and brainstorm ideas. You can tape, glue or staple photos and pieces from your day.

- inkjet printer
- paper trimmer or scissors
- white cardstock, found papers or your favorite journal papers
- sewing machine and black thread
1. print digital kits using inkjet printer. print multiple copies on a variety of papers
2. cut apart printed pages. cut strips of words and art journaling cards 2-up from oh what fun digital kit using a paper trimmer.
3. stitch paper strips to white cardstock. cut journal pages to size. I print on letter size {8.5"x11"} paper, then fold and stitch to create a 8.5" x5.5" idea journal.
4. choose a printed page for the cover from creative soul printable journal. fold stitched papers and stack them into each other inside the cover. then stitch down the center using a zigzag stitch. {TIP: avoid using a straight stitch down the spine or your pages will perforate and tear apart. If you have a lot of thick papers, use a binder clip to hold everything together while stitching.}
PLAY..braintorm, write lists, practice lettering, take notes or jot down your to-do list. Have fun filling up the idea book. Make a new journal every month with different printable or painted papers.
